Passier Relevant Dressage Saddle

Synthetic Saddle Tree - The Passier synthetic saddle tree is made of an elastomere that was tested under space conditions. Its special advantage: a saddle tree made of this synthetic material cannot break under normal conditions. Passier saddles with the synthetic saddle tree come with a ten year warranty on the saddle tree. The stirrup bars are stainless steel, making the bars impossible to break or tear out of the saddle tree under normal conditions.

Thigh Supports - Individual thigh supports are included on this saddle. The larger and thicker thigh supports make it easier for the rider to maintain the perfect position and offer a high degree of safety and hold.

Gusseted Panels - The wedge-shaped piece of leather is sewn onto the panel leather in the back-third o the panels. Thanks to the increased panel volume, the surface is enlarged and the fit to the horse’s back is improved. It is easier to make changes later if necessary. The gusseted panels are standard on this saddle.

Stubben Maestoso Dressage Saddle

The Maestoso marks a new breakthrough in the world of dressage. Stübben has combined four important features: looks, depth, comfort and close contact. This model is not a traditional Stübben dressage saddle. It is built on an ultra-deep seat and has a thin long knee roll. While the tree is still flexible and absorbs part of the rider's weight, it allows the rider to sit very deep and provides a more secure seat.

The Stubben Spring Tree, made exclusively for them to their specifications, is the made to measure link between the horse and the rider. When a rider sits in a Stubben spring tree saddle, the webbing absorbs the rider’s weight while the steel springs counteract both the pommel’s and cantle’s tendency to rise away from the horse’s back. These counteractions provide the most comfortable seat for the rider.

The Stubben tree is fitted with a front arch made from specially designed strengthened steel that both protects the withers from injury and keeps the saddle in the correct position behind the horse’s shoulder. The unbreakable never-rust stirrup bars are recessed into the tree, ensuring that the stirrup leather buckles do not interfere with the rider’s contact.

The Stubben tree is both expensive and difficult to produce, but in use it is quite unbeatable.

Passier Grand Gilbert Dressage Saddle

This dressage saddle was developed jointly by Passier with World Champion and Olympic Champion Nicole Uphoff. The exceptionally soft seat and the comfortable thigh supports, which make it even easier to keep the legs in place, are characteristic of this saddle.

PS Saddle Tree - Patented Passier Quality

The PS saddle tree was developed 50 years ago by Passier, and has been continuously produced since then in their own workshops. More than 1200 steps are necessary to produce it. The main materials are wood and leather. In order to achieve the high degree of flexibility, several bamboo strips are worked into the saddle tree. The Passier metal bands stabilize the saddle tree and also provide the necessary flexibility. Sheet metal is purposely not used in the Passier metal bands so as not to injure the fibers of the steel and to thus provide the greatest possible stability. Instead, spring band steel is used which, through after-treatment, takes on a shape which is optimum for the saddle. The stirrup bar of the PS saddle tree is make of high quality wrought bronze alloy. The stirrup bars have extremely high breakage and tear out strengths of far more than 600Nm. This means that it is impossible for a Passier stirrup bar to break or tear out of the saddle tree under normal circumstances. The wrought chrome-vandium alloy is used for the Passier gullet plate. This ha the considerable advantage that the width of the gullet plate can also e changed at a later date without any problems. Another feature is the relatively short sides that result in greater freedom for the shoulders. Riveting bolts are used instead of tubular rivets to ensure optimum strength and longetivity. The stretch joint on the PS saddle tree makes it possible to adjust the materials connected to the gullet plate to a new width in case the gullet plate is changed. The wood and the especially strong and fully tanned sole leather simply “wander” with the gullet plate.
